One Minute film evaluation

We watched the trailer for Warm Bodies and chose a few clips from there to replicate. We also imitated a scene in the airport that was turned into a meme

Working in a group and coming up with and deciding on an idea was initially difficult until we decided to narrow down ideas, for example, we agreed on remaking a film then by choosing a film we narrowed down by a genre we would agree on and then choosing which exact film we would want to do- which was Warm Bodies.
Working as a group during filming was difficult until we would delegate a job for each person such as makeup, props, filming, editing, directing and so on, this made filming and working together a lot easier for everyone.

Working with a camera was quite easy as we all have used a DSLR before so we had prior knowledge on how to use one. Editing seemed simple at first until we came across a few problems with trying to create a beating heart so that the zombie would seem alive but we were able to overcome that obstacle. Using audio equipment to record my voice to show what the zombie was thinking was simple as all I needed to do was press record and stop but there were some trial and error with trying to make it sound like a thought echoing through the head.

I think what went well was the fact that we were able to keep the comedic element in the zombie film as well as the cinematography being the same as the original film.
If there was more time then I would've tried to improve the make-up to make it look more similar to the film, another improvement I would make would be the lighting/ mise-en-scene as the lighting didn't create the atmosphere I exactly wanted.

If I were to do this project again I would do it in my free time instead of during school so that I could film it in a different location as well as get better actors instead of myself and people from my group who weren't as into filming ourselves.
